Tiden går så fort her nede!
I’m Wise
By Yamkela Ngwana, 14 years oldI might not live in a beautiful
decorated home
but i’m wise...
Wise to be thankful that i’m
not an orphan
Wise enough again that I have a
mother who’s also like a father to me
and my siblings
Wise to be thankful that I have a
roof over my head
I might not wear all the expensive
labels known
But I’m wise...
Wise enough to know that I look
good in anything I wear
Wise enough to appreciate all that my
mother can afford
Wise enough not to demand more or less
From what she can supply
I might not be the most beautiful girl among them all
But I’m wise...
Wise enough to know that we are all different
in our own unique ways
And wise to know that I’m beautiful in my own way
I might not be perfect in life and all
But still I’m wise...
Wise enough to know that I have
people who inspire me in life
who inspire me in so many different ways
Wise enough to always take responsibilities
for my own actions
And wise enough to be mature in decision – making
at all times and wise enough to know that
no one is perfect in life
I might not be there
yet and still
I’m wise ...
and wise enough to accept
the way I am and how my life is.
Love beat not heartbeat
By Yamkela Ngwana, 14 years oldAccept my broken heart
Acknowledge it’s scars
Accept it’s wounds
Listen to it’s cry
Feel it’s burden
Touch it’s emptiness
Read it’s twisted thoughts
hear the echo of it’s pain
Feel it’s coldness inside
Set it’s footprints filled with bruises
Through it’s eyes there’s vision
In my heart there’s no beat
In it’s body there’s no life
Pain is it’s one emotion
Hurt is it’s bed
Sorrow is it’s cup
Burden is it’s dish
Sears are it’s birthmarks
Wound are it’s identity
But stil...
Love is it’s dream.
It hurts (life is confusing some times)
By Yamkela Ngwana, 14 years oldNot having someone to be
Your parent is good and in bad times
Not having someone to be
Your colleague
Not having someone to be
Your adviser
It hurts
Not having someone to be
Your friend
Not having someone to be
Your mother, be your father
Not having someone to beg when
you want something thinking that you’re
wasting money
While knowing that you need that
thing badly
Not having someone to show you the
Right and the wrong way to life
Not having someone to show you
Support
Not having someone who loves you
Take care of you
Not having someone who believes in you
Not having someone to trust
It hurts
Beautiful Rose
By Lerato Princess Maloyi, 16 years oldYour name resounding in my head
My heart so heavy feels like led
I’m drowning I can’t breath
You are the only air that I need!
Set me free, set me free
You know your love can set me free
Let me be, let me breath
Your love the only air I need
Let’s fly now and leave this world behind
Take my hand and say that you’ll be mine
It’s like I’m in a fairy- tale
You are the wind that fills my sails
I’m drowning in your eyes
In vanilla skies
I’m floating out to the sea
You know your love can set me free
Youth
by Lerato Princess Maloyi, 16 years oldThis is a wake up call
To the youth of my country
To stand up and seize
The opportunities bought by the government
We are so young
Let us be proud
And enjoy our youth in a positive way
Let's do away
With alchohol and substances like
Crime, abuse, vandalising our school
And disrespecting our parents
Stop and prevent
The spreading og HIV, AIDS and STD's
Be a proudly South African Youth
